Choosing a Training Provider
Question: I intend to return to school in order to change careers. I am leaning toward learning to be a Medical Assistant. I would like to know if you could point me in the right direction towards a school that has good, affordable classes. Although there are a multitude advertised on the internet, many are not worth the money and I don’t have time to waste. – Applying for Training, a Workforce1 Career Blog Reader
Answer: Congratulations on taking a major step towards your career goal. Choosing a school can be a difficult decision. One place to start is by searching the NYC Training Guide which provides information about training classes, such as where the class is located and how much it will cost. You can also read the reviews from students to find out what they thought of the course.
The Mayor’s Office of Adult Education also has a host of resources to help you. Know Before You Enroll provides guidance on how to find licensed schools and avoid debt. You Can Too provides adult learners with the tools they need to succeed in school, work, and life.
