Mayor Bloomberg and Speaker Quinn Celebrate the New Workforce1 Veterans Career Center
On July 31st, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and NYC Department of Small Business Services Commissioner Robert Walsh came together to announce the official opening of the Workforce1 Veterans Career Center at 60 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The Mayor was joined by Commissioner Terrance Holliday of the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, Council Member and Veterans Committee Chair Mathieu Eugene, Robin Hood Managing Director Eric Weingartner, and Veterans Career Center Program Manager Anthony Morvillo and many others.
The message was clear – the City is fully committed to helping veterans get back to work in jobs that both meet their needs and take advantage of the experiences and qualifications gained in the military.
